• At the time of writing, YNH Property, the property developer linked to prominent investor Datuk Dr Yu Kuan Chon, witnessed an all-time high trading volume of 218.95 million shares — exceeding 166 times its one-year daily average of 1.32 million shares.

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 22): YNH Property Bhd and Sarawak Consolidated Industrial Berhad (SCIB) have emerged among the top active stocks on Bursa on Monday, posting record levels of trading activity.

At the time of writing, YNH Property, the property developer linked to prominent investor Datuk Dr Yu Kuan Chon, witnessed an all-time high trading volume of 218.95 million shares — exceeding 166 times its one-year daily average of 1.32 million shares.

This is equivalent to 41.42% of its share base of 528.49 million shares.

The counter hit limit-down again on two occasions earlier on Monday of 55.5 sen. At the time of writing, it pared losses to 56.5 sen — still down 29 sen or 33.92% from its previous close of 85.5 sen.

Since Jan 9, when YNH Property first faced selling pressure, daily trading volume ranged from a high of 5.92 million to a low of 1.37 million — with an average volume of 3.17 million shares.

SCIB notched trading volume of 328.47 million shares, over sevenfold its one-year daily average of 42.83 million shares. This is equivalent to 51.3% of its share base of 640.24 million shares.

Notably, this is not the counter’s record high volume, as trading activity last Friday was equivalent to 122.84% of its share base, with 786.46 million shares changing hands.

After consecutively hitting limit-down over the past four trading days, except for Jan 18 when the bourse operator froze its lower limit, the counter has bounced back 12.5 sen or 43.10% to 41.5 sen on Monday.
