KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 22): Zecon Bhd group managing director Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad has acquired a 9.94% stake in the construction, property development and hospital maintenance group.
Zainal acquired the stake comprising 14.95 million shares on the open market on Aug 18, according to the company’s bourse filing on Monday (Aug 21).
This raised his total equity interest in Zecon to 43.99% — comprising the 9.94% direct stake, and a 34.05% indirect interest held via Dawla Capital Sdn Bhd.
Besides Zainal, Zecon’s other substantial shareholders are Tan Sri Tommy Bugo @ Hamid Bugo with a 14.15% stake and non-independent non-executive director Sazali Md Salleh with an 8.4% stake.
