KUALA LUMPUR (July 14): Kerjaya Prospek Property Bhd has appointed Joanne Lee (pictured) as its new chief executive officer, effective Thursday (July 13).

The 53-year-old Lee has over three decades of professional experience across several industries, namely property development, construction, manufacturing, food and beverage, hospitality, retail, gaming and leisure, and healthcare and agriculture.

“Together with the management team, [Lee] will helm the growth and evolution of the group, providing [a] robust transformation strategy to drive more value and returns,” said Kerjaya Prospek Property in a Bursa Malaysia filing on Friday (July 14).

Prior to her current appointment, she had served as deputy CEO at real estate developer Tropicana Corp Bhd.

“[Lee] has played an integral role in the growth and expansion of [Tropicana] since 2010. With the support of Tropicana’s management team, she led the marketing and sales division and business development division by strategically leading all sales, marketing and business development activities locally and internationally. Her leadership qualities, agility and foresight contributed to customer care and engagement exercise and brand enhancement and marketing campaigns,” it said.

Other career highlights include her roles as head of procurement for IGB Bhd, general manager of Nam Fatt Marketing Sdn Bhd, as well as chief operations officer of the food and beverage division at TT Resources Bhd.

“She has successfully set up, established and centralised all group sourcing, as well as procurement activities, which have led to significant cost savings and quality delivery,” said the group.

Lee holds a degree in business administration from the National University of Malaysia and is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management and Building Materials Distributors Association of Malaysia.

At noon break on Friday, Kerjaya Prospek Property dipped one sen or 1.49% to 66 sen, for a market capitalisation of RM262.12 million.
