KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 24): Telekom Malaysia Bhd’s TMpoint Taipan outlet in Subang Jaya (pictured) has reported a new positive case of Covid-19.

In a statement today, TM said the case was confirmed on Dec 23, with the employee currently receiving treatment at a government hospital.

“Following the confirmed case, the company has taken immediate action to close the TMpoint Taipan outlet until Dec 29 for disinfection and sanitisation in accordance with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health (MoH).

“Meanwhile, to ensure TM customers continue to be served, other TMpoint outlets remain in operation in adherence to the standard operating procedures as well as TM’s added safety guidelines,” said the group.

It said detailed contact tracing is being carried out by MoH, assisted by the group’s Covid-19 Crisis Response Team, to identify and inform those who had close contact with the positive case.

Those identified as close contacts are being contacted by MoH for further advice and action, said TM.

“TM would like to remind everyone at all times to stay safe — practise social distancing, maintain personal hygiene and adhere to the SOPs as advised by the government. TM would like to reiterate that it has taken and will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure the health and safety of its customers, employees and community,” it added.
