KOTA KINABALU (Nov 6): Sutera Harbour Resorts (SHR) in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah said the company is not related to the Sutera cluster which was reported by the Ministry of Health earlier on Nov 5, 2020.
The report by Free Malaysia Today saw the resort claiming that it actually refers to a construction site located outside their property.
“The Sutera cluster, as stated in the ministry’s press release, refers to a construction site along Jalan Utama Sutera Harbour Road. At Sutera Harbour Resorts, we are 100% committed to adhering to SOPs published by the ministry.
We have been consistently taking stringent measures to keep our guests and our staff safe,” the SHR group’s management said in a statement reported by the media portal.
The report also stated that the Sutera cluster was first detected here when the index patient tested positive on Nov 2 after exhibiting symptoms.
The Sutera cluster is among the five new Covid-19 clusters in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Sabah announced by health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah yesterday evening.
Out of the 32 screenings done, 15 has tested positive while six have tested negative. The report said eleven more are waiting for their results.
