ParkCity's Plaza Arkadia bags FIABCI World Gold award

KUALA LUMPUR (July 17): Plaza Arkadia at Desa ParkCity, Kuala Lumpur has been named the Gold Winner in the Mixed-Use Development category of 2020 FIABCI World Prix D’excellence Awards.

Plaza Arkadia was crowned the inaugural winner in the Mixed-use Development when this category was first introduced by FIABCI Malaysia last year. Subsequently Plaza Arkadia represented Malaysia to compete with projects from other countries at the 2020 FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards. Winners were announced last night virtually by FIABCI International Real Estate Federation last night.

“This is not only a great achievement for Plaza Arkadia but also further authenticate ParkCity’s ideas, new urbanism, design philosophy and architecture, setting a new benchmark in the Malaysian real estate industry, as well as affirming Desa ParkCity’s position as a world-renowned township,” said Plaza Arkadia developer ParkCity Group CEO Datuk Joseph Lau in a statement today.

Last month, Plaza Arkadia had also bagged the Gold in the below 10 years mixed development (entire) category of EdgeProp Malaysia’s Best Managed and Sustainable Property Awards 2020.

Plaza Arkadia is the first commercial phase of ParkCity town center in Desa ParkCity. It seamlessly incorporates ParkCity’s development DNA of walkability, sustainability and sense of community. 

Plaza Arkadia is designed by California-based JRDV Urban International, which is known for designing commercial projects globally. The hybrid commercial plaza with a reinvented shop-office concept features modern SOHO units and vibrant social spaces packaged within a unique colonial-style architecture.  

Completed in December 2016, it consists of 8 blocks of 4 – 5 storeys each, 211 shops, 167 SOHOs and 139 offices, with 2 levels of basement carparks housing 1,908 carpark bays in total.
