KUALA LUMPUR (April 2): Musician and songwriter Adam Schlesinger has died yesterday as a result of COVID-19 infection complications, reported Reuters today. He was 52 years old.

Josh Grier, Schlesinger’s lawyer, on Tuesday told the media that he was "very sick and heavily sedated".

Schlesinger had been admitted into an upstate New York hospital for more than a week at that time, according to Grier.

Schlesinger became famous as a member of Fountains of Wayne and was also an Emmy-winning songwriter for the TV drama Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

He also earned an Oscar nomination in 1997 for co-writing the theme song for the Tom Hanks-directed film That Thing You Do!.
