KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 20): Engineering group Ranhill Holdings Bhd has secured an RM5.51 million contract to develop a sewage treatment plant for the R&F Tanjung Puteri property project in Johor Bahru.

The job was awarded by R&F Development Sdn Bhd to Ranhill’s wholly-owned unit Ranhill Water Technologies Sdn Bhd (RWT), and that it will be completed in the next nine months, Ranhill said in a filing today.

“This contract was secured on the back of a successful completion and delivery of a design-and-build contract of a 50,000 PE sewerage treatment plant at Country Garden Pacific View in Forest City, Johor, also utilising a Sequencing Batch Reactor system for the main biological treatment process to treat effluents to required standards,” said the company.

“The securing of this contract is also in-line with RWT’s strategic turnaround plan of progressively reshaping RWT into a leader in water, wastewater and sewerage treatment,” it added.

Ranhill shares traded unchanged at 98.5 sen today, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM1.06 billion.
