PETALING JAYA (Jan 31): The price of RON97 petrol will go down by eight sen per litre, while RON95 and diesel prices will remain the same for the week beginning Saturday (Feb 1), announced the Finance Ministry today.

It said the price of RON97 would be reduced from RM2.49 per litre to RM2.41 per litre.

The price of RON95 petrol remains unchanged at RM2.08 per litre while diesel remains the same at RM2.18 per litre.

"Based on the calculation under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM), the retail prices for both RON95 and diesel should be RM2.11 and RM2.18 per litre respectively," the ministry announced in a statement today.

The above fuel prices will take effect and remain from 12.01am on Saturday (Feb 1) until midnight on Feb 7 (Friday).

The ministry added that the estimated subsidy for the period would cost Putrajaya RM10.43 million.
