KUALA LUMPUR (May 4): Monies obtained from the renegotiations of Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) land transactions will be used to upgrade the facilities in People's Housing Projects (PPR) and Public Housing (PA), The Star reported Federal Territories Minister Khalid Adbul Samad (pictured) saying today.

According to Khalid, DBKL has received RM164 million from renegotiations of land deals that were transacted below market price.

“We can revitalise the flats. We can add more lamps and CCTV systems and create a better and safer environment for residents," he said while officiating the launch of the Program Perumahan Ku Bersih at the Seri Kota Flats at Bandar Tun Razak.

Khalid also called on the residents to cooperate to take care of the facilities in the flats, reported the daily.

"Residents need to be aware of the improvements we have done to the flats, like the repainting of the flats building.

"Some who are not aware of our efforts and continue to litter and vandalise the facilities will hamper our efforts to improve the flats environment.

"Taking care of the cleanliness of flats and the facilities is the responsibility of all residents," he added.
