KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 27): MK Land Holdings Bhd has appointed K Mohanachandran KR Kunjan as its new group CEO with effect from Feb 1.

Mohanachandran, 56, will replace Lau Shu Chuan, 56, who will relinquish his position as group CEO with effect from Feb 1, according to MK Land's bourse filings today.

Lau, who has been with MK Land for 16 years and helmed it as the group CEO since June 2011, has also been appointed as an executive director in MK Land with effect from Feb 1.

Mohanachandran has held several positions within the Emkay Group, which is the private property development arm of MK Land founder Tan Sri Dr Hj Mustapha Kamal Hj Abu Bakar.

His last stint was as chief operating officer of the Emkay Group.

Mohanachandran started his career in a soil investigation company, before working on the Penang Bridge project.

MK Land shares slid 0.5 sen (1.7%) at the close of the noon market today to 29 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM349.33 million. — theedgemarkets.com
