Judicial commissioner Quay Chew Soon ruled that Deepak's and the others' statement of claim did not disclose reasonable cause of action as the essential element to sustain his claims of a conspiracy to injure, misfeasance in public office, breach of duty of care and defamation.

Defence counsel Wan Aizuddin Wan Mohamad referred Shahrol to the projections made by Leissner, together with 1MDB legal officer Jasmine Loo and fugitive Low Taek Jho, or Jho Low, on the profits that would be made after 1MDB acquired the power assets.

However, Shahrol maintained that he was not a party in those discussions and as such, was not involved in making the "overpriced" projections.

Making the accusation during cross-examination at the 1MDB-Tanore trial in the High Court, Wan Aizuddin Wan Mohamad suggested that Shahrol had colluded with Goldman to value businessman Tan Sri Ananda Krishnan's power asset Tanjong Energy at a high price, given that the bank would be paid in terms of percentage of the deal.

High Court deputy registrar Mahyuddin Md Som today granted the prosecutors’ application which was filed on July 10 together with a certificate of urgency before the registrar, and allowed the application to be heard on Thursday morning before Justice Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali.

The valuables include 11,991 pieces of jewellery, 401 watches and 16 watch accessories, 234 pairs of eyewear and 306 handbags, as well as RM114.16 million in various foreign currencies.

The estimated value of all these items is approximately RM680 million.

YHA filed its suit on Nov 2 last year, claiming that the trade and industry minister and his family members owe the travel agency some RM329,000 in alleged unpaid bills incurred for several trips,

The suit by YHA Travel and Tours (M) Sdn Bhd was filed at the Sessions Court here on Nov 2 last year, through Messrs Fong Yap & Gan, on the grounds that Azmin, who is Senior Minister of International Trade and Industry, owes the travel agency for bills incurred by trips including his much-publicised Sandakan visit during the by-election there last year.
