Deputy Public Prosecutor Ahmad Akram Gharib said the trial was initially supposed to resume on April 15, but since the MCO has been extended to April 28, the case had been deferred again.

The Federal Court chief registrar's office said in a statement today that it had taken note of the Prisons Department director-general Datuk Seri Zulkifli Omar's letter dated April 2, proposing that offenders to the Movement Control Order (MCO) be sentenced to community service instead of jail.

In a statement issued by the Federal Court's chief registrar's office, it said the directive and statement issued on March 17 applies, where parties are required to apply to court for the hearing of civil cases to be done online by using the e-Review, exchange of emails and video conferencing.
