EPF: Larger problems could arise in the future if its members are allowed to access their Account 1 savings to address the challenges they face due to Covid-19.

A special task force led by Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar has identified several main issues that need to be addressed expediently in Felda, including its unsustainable capital structure and its whopping RM10.6 billion debts, Minister in the PMO Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said in the statement.  

The turbulent political scene in the country has added another layer of uncertainty, especially with the upcoming Budget 2021 slated to be tabled to Parliament on Nov 6.

The MoH recorded 7,625 new cases, while recoveries came in at just over a third of that — at 2,784.

The latest tally of these active cases — meaning patients who carry transmission risks and have to be admitted to hospitals and quarantined — stood at 5,768 cases as at yesterday noon, which is just about 1,000 or so cases away from the 6,795 beds available at government hospitals and quarantine centres to cater to those infected by the coronavirus.

The acquisition of the shares increased LSHH's stake in the group to 135.7 million shares, equivalent to a 5.033% equity stake. LSHH is currently the third largest shareholder of Ekovest.

This was agreed upon unanimously at the Umno Supreme Council’s Political Bureau meeting at the Putra World Trade Centre last night.

Anwar said the King will take some time to go through the documents and interview the heads of other political parties over the next one to two days for confirmation and inputs on the matter.
