SINGAPORE: Wing Tai Holdings Ltd has introduced a 5-storey freehold luxury condominium, Belle Vue Residences, in the Orchard-Oaxley neighbourhood in District 9. The 176-unit development sits on a 248,000 sq ft site.
According to the developer in a press release on Monday, Sept 6, there are seven units of 2-bedroom apartments (1,300 to 2,300 sqft), 103 units of 3-bedroom apartments (1,500 to 4,200 sqft), 62 units of 4-bedroom apartments (2,000 to 4,800 sqft), one unit of 5-bedroom apartment (5,400 sqft), and two units of penthouses (4,800 to 5,000 sqft). The development comes with private lift lobbies.
The development is scheduled for launch in the coming weeks.
The project is designed by award-winning architect Toyo Ito, best known for his sophisticated interpretation of nature through organic geometries, and Belle Vue Residences is his first and only residential condominium to-date in Asia, outside Japan.
"My instinctive conceptual design for Belle Vue Residences, upon seeing the site, was that it should parallel with a natural branching pattern, to accentuate the beauty and value of the site. My inspiration was to create a dwelling environment that enables us to rediscover our intimate relationship with nature, extending the tranquility of the outdoors into personal living spaces," Toyo said in the press release.
Edmund Cheng, deputy chairman of Wing Tai Holdings, said Toyo's architectural skills are fully liberated in Singapore, thus creating a unique and truly beautiful property in the island state.
"I have long anticipated this rare opportunity to materialise projects of such distinctiveness in architectural qualities; I am delighted with this wonderful collaboration with Toyo. In a way, I think we have paraphrased nature, and taken the concept of city living to an unprecedented level," he added.
Belle Vue Residences is organically shaped to emulate a tree's branching pattern, where each apartment enjoys the dynamics of light and wind, and has its own unique views. The approach also creates more wall surfaces for better natural light and ventilation.
The nine apartment blocks of Belle Vue Residences also have green pathways, tropical gardens and gentle water features, achieving a rare ambient tranquility in the heart of the city. There is also a 2-storey clubhouse that is designed as a bridge over landscaped pools, featuring a viewing veranda, multi-purpose function room, leisure lounge and theatre.
The gymnasium on the lower level looks out to a courtyard garden with water walls. Other recreational facilities include a barbecue area, children's playground and multi-purpose games court.
