PUTRAJAYA: The federal government has agreed to set up a special fund to implement all development projects in Sabah and Sarawak.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has agreed to set up the fund when chairing the first meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Sabah and Sarawak Bumiputeras here on Monday April 26.
The total allocation will be determined later, according to an officer of the Prime Minister's Department. The meeting, among other things, discussed programmes for the Bumiputeras in both states. The committee coordinates, monitors and evaluates the policies and implementation strategies of development projects for the Bumiputeras of both states.
The committee also had the mandate to identify and resolve issues regarding policies and government machineries in both states, the officer said. The meeting was attended by federal cabinet ministers and ministers of both
