Meet the finalists (part 4)

PETALING JAYA (Aug 21): The Edge-Mah Sing Millionaire (TEMS MILLIONAIRE) countdown continues!

Meet us at 8am tomorrow at Southville City @ KL South, Bangi, to watch the last leg of what may well be Malaysia’s biggest property competition.

A RM1 million prize voucher to buy any Mah Sing residential property awaits the winner.

1. Brian Lim Choon Wah
32, self-employed

How did you feel about being shortlisted as a finalist?

I was excited when I got the call! I definitely could not believe that I was lucky enough to be one of the finalists, although I play the online game every day. But the chances of being picked to be a finalist was one in a million.

How are you preparing for the grand finale?

I'm just relaxing and saving my energy for Saturday. I'm trying not to think too much. I just knew that there will be physical challenges and I'm not very fit, so I guess I'll just have to go with it.

2. Heng Hiang Gek
31, bank analyst

How did you feel about being shortlisted as a finalist?

I was thrilled when I found out I made it as a finalist and was surprised that I did. It's actually pretty unbelievable.

I didn't expect to be one of the 21 finalists because I joined the contest in late July, so I doubt I have as many tokens as the other contestants. But I tried my best to play the treasure hunt game every day.

How are you preparing for the grand finale?

I will be taking a day off before the contest to read up on Mah Sing on their projects and news related to them. As for the physical challenges, I hope I'm ready for it.

3. Hong Lih Chun
33, clinical operations manager

How did you feel about being shortlisted as a finalist?

At first, it was unbelievable that I made it to the final round. Then, thinking back to all of the effort and time that I've put in, I'm glad that I made it as one of the finalists.

I somehow did expect that I would be chosen as a finalist although at first, I thought the game worked based on the number of tokens collected. But after speaking to a Mah Sing representative, I knew it was based on luck. With some hope and good luck, I did make it as a finalist.

How are you preparing for the grand finale?

I don't know what to prepare actually. Maybe I'll burn the midnight oil by reading up on Mah Sing.

4. Lau Joo Poh
40, executive secretary in IT company, Kuala Lumpur

How did you feel about being shortlisted as a finalist?

When I got the call from Mah Sing telling me that I was one of the 21 finalists, I was excited as I've been hoping that I would make it!

I like to enter contests. When I saw the contest in The Edge, I signed up and played the games every day. I'm glad I put in effort for this contest.

How are you preparing for the grand finale?

I've been reading up on Mah Sing properties, which is a lot. I also know that the final round will have physical challenges -- I don't think I'll have the chance to win if it’s too much! But I'm definitely looking forward to this Saturday.

5. Megat Syahir Megat Ahmad Azizuddin

How did you feel about being shortlisted as a finalist?

I was shocked when I heard I was chosen to be one of the finalists. Of course it made me happy!

I actually did not expect to be shortlisted because I didn’t collect the tokens as often as I should or like other players who may have been more aggressively collecting the tokens. I guess it’s really my good luck!

How are you preparing for the grand finale?

I suppose reading about Mah Sing, their projects and property related stuff should help me a bit. Since there will also be physical challenges, I hope my weekly jogging routine will help!

6. Liew Hui Wen
21 years old, student, Selangor

How did you feel about being shortlisted as a finalist?

I feel very happy and excited that I was shortlisted as a finalist. I did not expect to be chosen even though I joined the competition from the start.

How are you preparing for the grand finale?

I haven’t prepared for anything yet but I will have a good time and I hope I win!

7. Abdul Rasyid Abdul Rahim
28 years old, assistant executive, Selangor

How did you feel about being shortlisted as a finalist?

I was really shocked and happy when they called me up because I did not expect to be chosen at all.

How are you preparing for the grand finale?

I have been jogging to train my stamina since it is a game challenge!
