PETALING JAYA: The Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM) launched a new web portal on March 3 called the MBAM Resource Centre for collation and exchange of data among the construction fraternity.
MBAM president, Ng Kee Leen said at the launch of the portal that the cost of setting up the website was RM1.1 million through a grant provided by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Information.
Currently, 50 MBAM members are being trained to provide information on the construction industry including, among others, a price index of 13 types of building materials and data of best practices, standards and benchmarks in the construction industry.
Ng added that eventually, this project would grow to provide information on the latest news and happenings in the construction community.
“This project is significant as information exchanged is for the betterment of the industry and community as a whole. The industry also needs statistical data and the capability to analyse data,” Ng said.
