KUALA LUMPUR: Eastern & Oriental Bhd (E&O Bhd) launched the second tower of its Quayside seafront condominiums at Tanjung Seri Pinang in Penang on Thursday, August 26.

According to a statement by the developer, the estimated average price for Tower 2 is RM800 psf. All units are fully fitted out with built-in wardrobes, light fixtures, built-in kitchens and are fully air-conditioned. There are one- to three-bedroom units as well as penthouse suites, with built-ups from 1,137 sq ft for the one-bedroom unit to 7,159 sq ft for a penthouse.

“Quayside is an excellent chance for buyers who wish to own a beachfront condominium at a currency bargain. Add to that an attractive financing package of up to 90% and a low upfront cash commitment and buyers will be well-positioned to capitalise on Penang’s current growth curve,” said Eric Chan Kok Leong, executive director of E&O Bhd.

The 27-storey second block offers views of the Andaman Sea, the private waterpark and verdant manicured gardens, Gurney Drive, or the nearby rolling hills. Certain units (A1) will enjoy all three views of the sea, waterpark and the marina at Straits Quay with Gurney Drive in the distance, the statement said.

“Buyers of E&O properties have typically enjoyed an attractive level of capital appreciation. For instance, our Ariza courtyard terraces at Seri Tanjung Pinang have appreciated by approximately 30% to 40% since its maiden launch. It is clear to buyers that Quayside offers upside potential on many fronts,” Chan said.

The first tower of Quayside was officially unveiled in February and almost 80% of the available units have been sold. Aside from local buyers, there were also buyers from Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia, and China, as well as Britain, Germany and Sweden.

Quayside is located within the masterplanned 21-acre seafront development of Seri Tanjung Pinang, a guarded community.

Just next to Quayside is Straits Quay, Penang’s first retail marina, which is set to enhance the overall lifestyle experience of living at Quayside and Seri Tanjung Pinang.

Straits Quay is a 12-acre festive retail centre that will feature a comprehensive mix of outlets and attractions that range from boutiques to bistros, seafood restaurants to seaside cafes, bars to boat rides, and includes a promenade, a performing arts centre and a learning centre. The 270,000 sq ft centre will house approximately 100 tenants and will open for business in end-November.

“Coupled with the development’s surrounding amenities and nearby attractions, as well as the continual demand for luxury properties in Penang, we are confident that Seri Tanjung Pinang will become a vibrant live-in community and it will set the benchmark for seafront living on the island,” said Chan.
