KUALA LUMPUR: Dijaya Corp Bhd (Dijaya) recorded revenue of RM58.37 million for 1Q2010, an increase of RM13.59 million or 30.34% compared with RM44.78 million for the preceding corresponding quarter, an announcement on Bursa Malaysia on May 19 stated.

The group also recorded profit before tax of RM6.60 million, a decrease of RM9.28 million or 58.43% compared with RM15.88 million in the preceding corresponding quarter.

The increase in revenue, the announcement said, was due to the contribution from Tropicana City Mall and progress billings recognised from Villa Green 3A. The lower profit before tax resulted from the increase in administrative expenses of about RM5.3 million.

The statement also announced that in the quarter under review, Dijaya’s revenue dropped RM42.91 million to RM58.37 million compared with the preceding quarter’s (4Q2009) results of RM101.28 million. Profit before tax of RM6.60 million decreased by RM0.79 million when compared with the preceding quarter (4Q2010) of RM7.39 million.
