PETALING JAYA (July 9): The glass panels of a fifth-storey infinity pool at the Cradels condominium in Whampoa, Singapore, crashed to the ground yesterday, sending shattered glass flying across the condo compound and water pouring from the pool, reported the Straits Times.

No one was reported to be injured in the 2.30pm incident, although witnesses were shocked by the commotion caused by the falling glass panels.

Eighty-four-year-old hawker Muhammad Khalid Alimad, who runs a stall near the condo, said he thought a house had collapsed.

"There was someone who looked like he was heading into the condo but when he saw the glass falling and water gushing, he moved away from the entrance. It was quite dangerous," he said.

The fifth floor and the affected area below the pool have been closed off for public safety.
