KLANG (Dec 13): A Lotus’s hypermarket in IJM Rimbayu, a township development by IJM Land Bhd in Telok Panglima Garang near here, opened on Friday. The hypermarket, which features its own mall, will be the largest superstore within a 10km radius.

Operating under a 30-year lease, the hypermarket spans 4.48 acres with a total built-up area of 64,066 sq ft. The development cost was RM56 million, according to a media statement issued by IJM Land.

“The launch of Lotus’s marks a defining chapter in IJM Rimbayu’s story. Lotus’s reflects these values by meeting the basic essential needs of our growing community, fostering economic growth, and empowering local businesses. It highlights IJM Rimbayu’s vision of becoming a destination where individuals, families and businesses can thrive together. This addition further strengthens our commitment towards creating a dynamic, sustainable and inclusive community that does not need to venture far for their daily necessities,” said IJM Land chief operating officer Datuk Chai Kian Soon in the statement.

He added that the hypermarket will serve 46,000 residents of IJM Rimbayu’s township and neighbouring areas providing daily produce, groceries, health and beauty products and home appliances.

IJM Rimbayu is a 1,879-acre township with a gross development value of over RM11 billion. To date, the developer has launched 5,347 residential units and has a population of over 15,000 residents.
