KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 6): Paragon Platinum Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Paragon Globe Bhd (KL:PGLOBE), commenced construction of its Desa 27 industrial development in Desa Cemerlang, Johor Bahru, last Saturday (Nov 2).

Desa 27, spread across a 27-acre freehold industrial land, features five plots of detached factories. A statement on Saturday said the project has a design-and-build concept, which provides flexibility for its tenants in terms of design, layout and facilities tailored to various operational setups and business needs.

The confirmed tenants include Hunter Amenities International and Meiban Technologies Malaysia. The remaining three plots are still open for sale or lease. The selling price is RM25 million onwards, depending on the specifications.

Also developed by Paragon Globe is DESA 100, an industrial development spread across 163 acres in Desa Cemerlang that was launched early this year. The statement elaborated that about 68 acres of this land have been acquired by Bridge Data Centres to develop a data centre. Plans for the remaining land will be announced at a later date.

In the statement, Paragon Globe executive chairman Datuk Seri Edwin Tan Pei Seng said, “Desa 27 and Desa 100 cover a total land area of approximately 190 acres of freehold land, offering a one-stop solution with a design-and-build concept for industrial use. I am optimistic that these two projects will contribute positively to Desa Cemerlang and its community.”

Tan added that the developer’s commitment to sustainable growth remains at the forefront. “We also plan to aim for GreenRE certification. This certification aligns with our goals for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) efforts. It will not only attract investors but also demonstrate our commitment to being environmentally friendly.”

Both Desa 27 and Desa 100 are located 21km from the Woodlands Checkpoint, 26km from Johor Port Pasir Gudang, and 28km from the Senai International Airport.

On the developer’s upcoming plans, Tan said, “Not only are we focused on commercial and industrial developments, but Paragon Globe will also be actively expanding its presence and growing its footprint in the region with plans for two serviced apartment projects in the Johor Bahru city centre”.
