KUALA LUMPUR (June 28): Property developer NCT Group’s unit NCT Smart Management Sdn Bhd (NCT Smart Management) has inked memorandums of understanding (MOU) with KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) and Mentari Alam EKO (M) Sdn Bhd (MAEKO) to bolster the offerings and capabilities of the NCT Smart Industrial Park (NSIP).

NSIP is the country’s first managed industrial park located in Selangor’s Integrated Development Region in South Selangor (IDRISS).

In a statement on Friday, the developer said NCT Smart Management’s collaboration with KDEBWM will explore comprehensive solutions that bolster waste collection, public cleansing services, and recycling at NSIP as a whole, and specifically for the industrial, commercial and institution (ICI) sector within the park.

Meanwhile, the MOU with MAEKO on the other hand will focus on implementing wide-ranging food and organic waste management, given MAEKO’s expertise in wastewater treatment and microbial research on waste treatment.

NCT Group founder and group managing director Datuk Sri Yap Ngan Choy said the strategic MOUs aptly address the massive challenges of waste management at industrial parks, with the intention to effectively mitigate environmental impact.

“By integrating KDEBWM’s advanced waste management services and MAEKO’s innovative composting technology, we expect to achieve a significant reduction in waste generation at NSIP.”

“The partnerships will allow us to elevate our smart park and set a new benchmark for the industry.

“Through these efforts and more to come, NSIP can lead the charge to fostering a strong culture of sustainability and innovation that will ultimately benefit stakeholders, communities and the environment,” he said.
