PETALING JAYA (June 18): The National Institute of Valuation (Inspen) Alumni Association plans to expand its mentorship programme that connects experienced professionals with newer graduates for guidance, support and career development opportunities.

“This initiative will help bridge the gap between academic learning and practical industry experience, preparing our members for successful careers,” said its president Mohd Shafiq Iqram Abdullah at the recent signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with EdgeProp.

“The Inspen Alumni Association is a dynamic and dedicated society established to create a supportive community among Inspen graduates, serving as a platform for the alumni to connect, collaborate and contribute to the continuous development and excellence of the valuation and property industry in Malaysia,” Shafiqram told EdgeProp.my.

“Our strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders offer exclusive job opportunities, internships and access to industry events. We also celebrate our members' achievements through various awards and recognition programmes, promoting a culture of excellence.

“Through these initiatives, the Inspen Alumni Association ensures our members remain compliant, competitive and well-prepared for their professional journeys,” said Shafiqram.

He added that the organisation’s commitment to its members’ professional development is evident through its regular workshops and seminars, which offer networking opportunities and access to valuable online resources such as research papers and industry reports.

In a strategic move designed to further enhance the professional growth and industry influence of its members, the organisation has partnered with EdgeProp. Through this collaboration, its members enjoy exclusive access to industry insights, property database, advanced analytical tools and comprehensive market reports.

“The Inspen Alumni Association aims to utilise EdgeProp's advanced digital tools and technology to provide our members with up-to-date market analysis to help them make informed decisions and stay ahead in the competitive real estate and valuation industry,” explained Shafiqram.

EdgeProp business development head Nimalen Parimalam, who signed the MOU on EdgeProp’s behalf, was equally optimistic: “Without a doubt, our innovative tools within our digital platform will be incredibly beneficial for Inspen Alumni Association members, and I’m confident EdgeProp will contribute significantly to its growth”.

Looking ahead, the organisation aims to build a more connected and engaged alumni network by hosting regular networking events, professional seminars and alumni reunions.

The organisation also plans to play a more active role in industry advocacy, participating in policy discussions and contributing to the development of industry standards. These efforts will ensure that its members’ interests are well-represented and the industry continues to thrive.
