• Kumpulan Jetson claimed that the number of shares held by certain requisitionists, namely Lee Yee Wee, Shaun Sai Wen Fei, Teo Chor Eng, Tey Giap Leong and Muhd Alamin Ramli, as at Dec 8, was wrongly stated in the notice.

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 21): Kumpulan Jetson Bhd has turned down a requisition from 10 shareholders to convene an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) on the grounds that they did not collectively hold at least 10% of the company's shares on the day of the request.

"We note that the requisitionists collectively held 25,324,384 or 9.45% of Jetson shares as at Dec 8," said the construction and property development group in a bourse filing on Thursday.

Kumpulan Jetson claimed that the number of shares held by certain requisitionists, namely Lee Yee Wee, Shaun Sai Wen Fei, Teo Chor Eng, Tey Giap Leong and Muhd Alamin Ramli, as at Dec 8, was wrongly stated in the notice.

"Jason Ching Chou-Yi did not hold any Jetson shares as at Dec 8 and hence was not a member of the company to qualify for requisitioning the directors of the company to convene the proposed EGM," the group added.

The remaining four shareholders who sought the EGM are Tee Chee Beng, Chang Yin Yee, Chong Wan Ying and Nurdayana Isa.

The 10 shareholders had, in their requisition notice, requested the EGM to remove Tunku Nooruddin Tunku Shahabuddin, Louise Paul Ail Joseph Paul, Hong Cheong Liang, Edward Ng Kah Jiun, and Goh Rui Yee from the board.

In their place, the shareholders sought to appoint Tee as well as Datuk Seri Mohmad Salleh, Chuan Sieh Yee, Joe Tee Chang Chee Lup, Boey Sook Yen, and Melvin Ong Kok Ho as new directors.

Shares in Kumpulan Jetson settled one sen or 3.77% higher at 28 sen, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM73.69 million.
