• Mulia Property Development stated that Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat announced an addition to the criteria for measuring the height of a building from street level in a case where the entrance of a building sits on a significant podium.

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 5): The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) retroactively conferred the title of Tallest Building in Malaysia to Exchange 106 “as at its completion in September 2019”, according to a media release by Mulia Property Development Sdn Bhd.

Mulia Property Development is a joint venture between Ministry of Finance and Mulia International which owns and manages Exchange 106.

Mulia Property Development stated that CTBUH announced an addition to the criteria for measuring the height of a building from street level in a case where the entrance of a building sits on a significant podium.

“This addition has led to the re-evaluation of buildings such as The Exchange 106, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which was retroactively conferred a height of 453.6m to its architectural top, which is now recognised as the tallest building in Malaysia at the time of its completion in 2019,” said Mulia Property Development.

Associated with this award, Exchange 106 has also “led to CTBUH recalibrating its height criteria only for a second time following a similar revamp for the Burj Khalifa of Dubai in 2010”.
