KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 1): In conjunction with the upcoming Christmas and year-end celebrations, ParkCity welcomes visitors “to be mesmerised” by its Year-End Light Festival that will feature a dazzling array of art installations and illumination displays.

The theme for this year is Nordic Lights which “embraces the simple yet artistic Nordic style of lighting”, stated ParkCity in a media release. Until Feb 5, 2023, The Waterfront and Central Park of Desa ParkCity has been “transformed through the use of light, art and colours to showcase an appreciation of Art in Nature”.

This year’s Light Festival will feature seven different touchpoints along the designated route to allow visitors an illuminative stroll.

Visitors can experience the immersive light displays at each of the touchpoints, such as the Tunnel of Light and Meteor Rain, or take photos with the moving light spectres of the Birds of Peace and Trinity.

Other light installations include The Sun, a sustainable art piece made from plastic scraps, and a glowing blue touchpoint called Bridge of Hope.

On weekends at 8pm and 9pm, visitors can enjoy aurora borealis light displays inspired by the Northern Lights. The aurora borealis light display will run from Dec 10 to Jan 1, 2023. Taking its inspiration from the Nordic style, this year’s Light Festival is a reflection of the concept and design of Noöra Residences, the latest integrated residential project in Desa ParkCity, which launched recently.

Taken from the Nordic word meaning ‘Light’, Noöra Residences features clean Scandinavian designs, clever solutions and a wide expanse of natural space and light. The project features spacious and well-lit communal spaces built for people to spend quality time together and adopts the concept of a wholesome yet simpler Scandinavian way of life.

At The Waterfront, visitors can enjoy dinner or lounge over a cup of coffee while admiring the Light Festival from afar. “Red and gold twinkling lights adorn the retail centre which is abuzz with the Christmas atmosphere, making each visit a festive, enjoyable one,” stated ParkCity.

Children can board the Kids’ Night Train and LED Animal Rides in the playground.

The Desa ParkCity Year-End Light Festival takes place from Dec 1, 2022 to Feb 5, 2023, while the Christmas decorations will be on display until Dec 28, 2022.
