PETALING JAYA (Aug 17): The Taman Megah Market will be closed from today until Aug 20, 2021 as some of the traders were tested positive for Covid-19, according to a social media posting by Bandar Utama assemblyman Jamaliah Jamaluddin.

In her Facebook posting today, she said the Persatuan Penjaja Pasar Pagi Taman Megah has informed Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) that the market will be closed from today until August 20, 2021.

“The state assembly office in Bandar Utama and the MBPJ in Petaling Jaya have received reports about a Covid-19 close contact case involving public market hawkers. The MBPJ Health Department ordered four stalls to be temporarily closed after a thorough examination with the District Health Office (PKD),” said the posting.

The affected traders are only allowed to resume business after their self-quarantine period is over. The MBPJ Health Department has sanitised the market, she added.
