KUALA LUMPUR (May 28): Malaysian infrastructure conglomerate MTD Group’s One Crown Place development in EC2, London was delivered ahead of schedule.
In a recent media statement, the company said the £518 million (RM3.04 billion) mixed-use scheme on the fringes of the City of London is completed by MACE, a global construction and consultancy firm and main contractors.
“With the completion earlier than anticipated despite the project’s unique design that represented a complex construction challenge, the landmark address of One Crown Place will leave a lasting legacy for London,” said MTD Group.
MTD Group head of international real Estate and properties and director of AMTD London Development Co Ltd Tee Kim Siew said the practical completion of the iconic mixed-use development in Central London is a major milestone for MTD Group.
Embracing the old-meets-new character of the City of London and Hackney, One Crown Place comprises two prismatic towers host 246 private apartments, rising 28 and 33 storeys into the sky, with beautifully crafted contemporary interiors from Bowler James Brindley.
At ground level stands a 6-storey building - home to 10,650sqm of high-quality office space, with a dedicated office reception designed by Design Haus Liberty, and a variety of retail units, whilst a boutique hotel and members’ club occupies the fully restored Georgian terrace on Sun Street.
Build works began onsite at the distinctive development in April 2018, and One Crown Place’s northernmost building ‘topped-out’ in Autumn 2019, followed by the southernmost building in early 2020. The interior fit-out of the apartments and the hotel fit-out commenced in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
