KUALA LUMPUR (May 25): Judges of the Federal Court and the Court of Appeal led by Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat will be vaccinated beginning May 31.

"The Office of the Minister of Law is also arranging for all judges from the Magistrates' Court, Sessions Court and High Court to be vaccinated in the various states in collaboration with the respective state governments and the State Health Departments," said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan in a statement today.

He added that the government regards all judges and court officials in the country as frontliners because of their duties, which are in constant direct contact with the public.

"Vaccination is expected to reduce their risk of exposure to Covid-19," he said.

Most notably, the Chief Judge of Malaya Tan Sri Azahar Mohamed was recently warded due to Covid-19, but has since been discharged from the hospital.
