KUALA LUMPUR (March 25): The Chili’s restaurant in Bangsar here will close permanently by March 31 after operating for 27 years, Chili’s Malaysia announced on its social media pages.
Famous for serving Tex-Mex cuisine, the Chili’s restaurant in Bangsar was the chain’s first outlet that opened in 1994.
“It's been an awesome 27 years for Chili's at Bangsar Shopping Centre. We'd like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our guests in Chili’s Bangsar Shopping Centre for your support over the years.
“We're sadly saying goodbye to our very first flagship store. Drop by for one last time before March 31 to say goodbye as we will be permanently closing Chili's Bangsar Shopping Centre outlet soon,” said Chili’s Malaysia.
A report by The Star stated that “Over the years, it has come to be known as a family-friendly place, serving classic Tex-Mex and American fare in a Southwestern-style setting to all walks of life”.
Chili’s Malaysia’s other outlets, however, remain open.
