KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 6): The people’s housing project or PPR folk of Seri Aman, Kepong, are hoping City Hall (DBKL) can take action against “illegal” residents/occupants, The Star reported today.
“We hope DBKL can take action as this issue raises security and safety concerns.
“We are worried that more people will move in to occupy these units without permission.
“If no action is taken, these occupants may think they can get away with it,” Seri Aman PPR Residents Association (SAPPRRA) chairman Mohamed Nawaz Koya told the daily.
According to the report, the association got information from a cleaner that there were apparently illegal water pipe and electrical wiring outside a unit in their PPR.
“A group of residents went to check on the unit and found it was being occupied by a husband and wife. The couple claimed that they were renting the unit from its owner,” said Nawaz.
He also revealed that his association checked with the DBKL branch office, and found out that the unit did not have an owner.
“There are many vacant units in this block and residents have been on the lookout for any illegal occupants for the past few weeks,” he added.
