PETALING JAYA (Dec 30): Westlite Accommodation Malaysia reiterated that the premises of Westlite Tampoi was used as “low-risk Covid-19 centre”, according to the company’s statement.

Earlier on Dec 25, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) to be enforced at the Westlite workers’ dormitory in Taman Perindustrian Tampoi Jaya, Johor Bahru beginning tomorrow till Jan 8 next year.

The company has issued a media statement today to clarify that the government has repurposed the premises of Westlite Tampoi for use of a low-risk COVID-19 centre since Dec 26, 2020.

“This means the location will be used to house, isolate and treat asymptomatic cases within the Tampoi Jaya area… The individuals housed in this low-risk COVID-19 centre include both registered residents of Westlite Tampoi as well as workers of employers who are not registered residents of Westlite Tampoi,” said the statement.
