PETALING JAYA (Nov 17): Tenaganita executive director Glorene Das requested the authorities to probe the employers of construction workers who allowed the workers under quarantine to continue to work onsite, reported Free Malaysia Today.

In a series of photos which went viral in social media, a group of construction workers who were wearing pink wristbands were seen working at a construction site.

According to the report, Glorene Das questioned why the enforcement authorities did not monitor or take any action against the employers who breached the SOPs.

She added that social isolation was not feasible for migrant workers who were suspected or diagnosed with Covid-19, as most of them live in cramped rooms.

Adrian Pereira from the North-South Initiative urged the authorities to take this case seriously as the consequences would be severe and could cause a collapse of the local industrial sectors.
