KUALA LUMPUR (May 1): Hollywood star Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson (pictured) have volunteered to donate their blood and plasma for vaccine research against Covid-19, say reports.

During an episode of the NPR podcast Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!, Hanks said he and his wife had offered to donate samples of their blood and plasma to help.

“A lot of the questions (are) what do we do now? Is there something we can do? And, in fact, we just found out that we do carry the antibodies,” he said.

“We have not only been approached, we have said, Do you want our blood? Can we give plasma?’” he revealed.

CNA Lifetstyle reported Hanks saying that if researchers do find a vaccine using his plasma, hejokingly suggested it should be called “Hank-ccine”.

Hanks also said that he and Wilson are feeling “just fine” and “dandy” after recovering from the Covid-19 infection.

Hanks and his wife were in Australia where the former was acting in a film about Elvis Presley when both caught the virus earlier this year.
