KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 25): The High Court here has today deferred the hearing of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB)-linked asset forfeiture proceedings against the Tun Hussein Onn Foundation to Nov 15 from Nov 4 this year.

The foundation is also known as Yayasan Tun Hussein Onn. The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, which has filed forfeiture suits against 41 entities in relation to 1MDB-related assets, is seeking RM1.98 million from the Tun Hussein Onn Foundation.

The hearing deferment follows an application by the foundation's lawyer Datuk Hariharan Tara Singh before Judicial Commissioner Datuk Ahmad Shahrir Mohd Salleh today.

It is understood that the foundation has yet to receive a reply on its representation letter sent to the Attorney General's Chambers regarding the MACC's legal action against the foundation.
