KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 27): The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) wants to amend its forfeiture notice against Barisan Nasional (BN) Johor to include its office bearers in the legal action to recover 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB)-related money, which BN Johor was alleged to have received.

The MACC is seeking to recover RM677,872.55 from BN Johor. MACC deputy public prosecutor (DPP) Allan Suman Pillai told Justice Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali today the MACC will amend the notice following the High Court judge's earlier decision in the commission's case against Umno Pekan.

Justice Mohd Nazlan had then instructed the prosecution to name Umno Pekan's office bearers for the forfeiture of funds Umno Pekan received from 1MDB.

Today, Pillai said the prosecution is seeking the mention date for amendment of the forfeiture notice against BN Johor.

BN Johor's lawyer Syahrul Syazwan Salehin said his client wants the court to record BN Johor's objection against the amendment.

"We may have to take instructions from the BN headquarters because of this," Syahrul said.

However, Justice Mohd Nazlan said BN Johor can raise its objection at the hearing of the prosecution's application to amend the forfeiture notice.

The judge subsequently fixed Oct 18 for mention of BN Johor's forfeiture notice amendment.

The hearing today on BN Johor's forfeiture notice amendment followed another related hearing at the High Court yesterday on Hatatex Trading.

Yesterday, High Court Judge Datuk Rozana Ali Yusoff fixed Nov 26 for any third parties wanting to contest the forfeiture notice against Hatatex.

Hatatex was alleged to have received 1MDB-related money amounting to RM111,590.

MACC DPP Farah Yasmin Salleh appeared for the prosecution while Fitri Qalbi Hatta represented Hatatex.
