PETALING JAYA (July 19): Up to 1,133 areas in the Klang Valley are enduring an unscheduled water supply disruption.This is because three Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plants were "shut down due to odour pollution in the Sungai Selangor raw water source", Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) said today.

The three plants are Sungai Selangor Phase 1 Water Treatment Plant, SSP 2 WTP and SSP 3 WTP.

A total of 1,166,842 customer accounts in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang/Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Kuala Langat will be impacted by the unscheduled water supply disruption, said Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd Customer Relationship and Communication Department head Abdul Raof Ahmad said in a statement today.

"All efforts are being undertaken to resolve this problem," he added.
