PETALING JAYA (April 21): Sunway Group founder and chairman Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah and Sunway Property was honoured by the EdgeProp Malaysia’s Best Managed Awards 2019 for their commitment to sustainability in property development.
Jeffrey, who has been an international icon in championing sustainable development over the last four decades, was accorded the inaugural Editor’s Choice for Malaysia’s Exemplary Leader of Sustainable Development 2019 - the only personality award in this year’s EdgeProp Malaysia's Best Managed Property Awards.
On the other hand, Sunway Property, the property development arm of the Sunway Group won the EdgeProp Malaysia's Responsible Developer: Building Sustainable Development Award.
Speaking to EdgeProp.my at the gala dinner tonight, Sunway Bhd property division managing director Sarena Cheah said that the developer is "honoured and thankful" for the awards.
"This showed that we are heading to the right direction and we want to thank our stakeholder especially to EdgeProp.my for the recognition for choosing us as the responsible and sustainable developers.
"This awards is also a recognition to all the people, especially our employees, who involved and contributed a lot of their time and effort in building the master community branding that we stand on today, hence inspire us to do more," she added.
She said that moving forward, the developer will continue to improve and leverage on its strengths to continue to be the most responsible and sustainable developer.
