KUALA LUMPUR (March 14): Kuala Lumpur City Hall is set to arrange public hearings to hear objections to a high-density project in Taman Tiara Titiwangsa.

The Malay Mail reports that Federal Territories Minister Khalid Abdul Samad
explained the move resulted from a Court of Appeal ruling that voided previous public hearings on the development.

“Following the court’s decision yesterday, a fresh round of public hearings will be conducted by DBKL on the development in Taman Tiara Titiwangsa,” he was reported as saying.

Residents in the Taman Tiara Titiwangsa area had said that they had not been allowed to present their objections properly under Rule 5 of the Federal Territory Planning Act 1982. The rule allows public input in planning and development.
