PETALING JAYA (Nov 30): Selangor government's RM18mil allocation for the completion of abandoned projects, the Abandoned Projects Revival Fund (Tepat) has yielded results.

The Star reports that Selangor Housing and Urban Living Committee chairman Haniza Talha said RM6mil of the amount, which had been allocated in 2016, was used this year to complete a project in Taman Desa Mawar in Kuala Selangor.

“We are looking to fund two other projects in Kampung Melayu Rasah, Ampang Pecah and Kampung Koskan Sungai Cho,” Haniza was quoted as saying.

Haniza said that Selangor Mentri Besar Amirudin Shari visited the Rasah project in September, before agreeing to revive the project using the revival fund.

Haniza was answering a question from Lee Kee Hiong (PH-Kuala Kubu Baru) regarding the amount allocated to the fund.

The daily reported that Saari Sungib (PH-Hulu Kelang) questioned how abandoned projects were selected under Tepat.

“Only projects with the least amount of problems will be considered for revival efforts. One of the biggest problems we have is locating unit owners and land owners of abandoned projects,” Haniza said.

Status of completion was also a factor. Projects with a higher percentage of completion will have higher chances of being selected.
