MCT Tower

PETALING JAYA (Nov 29): The OneCity@USJ 25 complex is not owned by MCT Bhd or its subsidiary, One City Development Sdn Bhd, The Star reported The Square@OneCity JMB chairman Chong Li Loh saying today.

"All properties, including the office tower and units in One City, USJ, are individually owned and managed by three JMBs, per the Strata Title Act 2013," Chong explained at a media conference today.

According to reports, rioters had gathered at the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman Temple at USJ25 and moved to MCT Tower, part of the One City development on Tuesday morning. They then proceeded to break windows and fittings at MCT Tower and even set ablaze a number of vehicles.

Chong said the rioters most probably assumed that the building is “owned by One City Development Sdn Bhd or its parent company”.

"They are just tenants, and as for 'MCT Tower', the name is there, as they are tenants and it's part of their naming rights," he said.

Chong also added that the cost of repairs is “extensive” and that the individual owners would have to bear them.

The building has 939 individual owners
