KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 27): Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak (pictured) lost his cool several times during an interview with Al Jazeera for its 101 East programme yesterday.

In a press release, Al Jazeera said Najib was questioned on a long list of issues including the “pink diamond”, the “RM2.6 billion donation” during the hour-long “grilling”.

Najib “lost his cool a couple of times” and questions regarding the pink diamond left him “visibly irritated” while more questions on the murder of Mongolian woman Altantuya Shariibuu made things worse.

According to Al Jaeera, the interview was conducted by Mary Ann Jolley, who was deported by  Najib's Government in 2015 while she was doing a documentary on the Altantuya murder.

When Jolley raised her deportation, Najib expressed no regret for doing so, Malaysiakini reported.

“Good thing we deported you. You are a nuisance. Because as far as I am concerned, making lies. Fabricating lies is not something we want to tolerate in this country,” said the former premier.

The 101 East interview with Najib will be aired at 11.30am today (Oct 27) followed by repeats on Monday and Tuesday. Viewers can watch the programme online after the first broadcast. — theedgemarkets.com
