KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 3): Former prime minister Najib Razak and wife Rosmah Mansor are both being questioned today, in the investigation into alleged graft linked to state fund 1MDB.
Free Malaysia Today reports that they were summoned separately. Najib arrived at Menara KPJ in Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur where Bukit Aman’s Commercial Crime Investigation Department is located, at 9.40am.
Rosmah returned to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya where she was questioned for 13-hours just last week.
Najib faces 32 charges, ranging from money laundering to abuse of power and criminal breach of trust in the effort to uncover how billions of dollars went missing from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
Thus far, no charges have been brought against Rosmah.
The news portal reports that in a press conference at the CCID headquarters, Umno Supreme Council member Lokman Noor Adam said there was talk that Najib might not be released today.
“We are waiting,” he said. “We are not sure whether he will be released today.
“Rumour has it that Zahid might be charged too,” he added, referring to Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
