SHAH ALAM (August 16): An 11-year-old boy fell to his death from his family’s fifth-floor apartment unit, located at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) quarters yesterday, reports the NST.

Mohd Badrul Amin Abdul Rahman, 11, had been gathering clothes that were hung on the balcony, and is believed to have slipped and fallen in the 7pm incident.

“Based on eyewitness testimony, the boy was sitting on the railing of the balcony while reaching for clothes on the clothesline.

“But the clothesline snapped and the boy lost his balance,” Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Baharudin Mat Taib told the NST.

Baharuddin said that the boy’s father had rushed to take him to the military sick bay nearby, before they were referred to the Shah Alam Hospital at 8.50am.

“The boy had suffered serious head injuries and was placed in the hospital’s Red Zone.

“But shortly after, doctors pronounced Mohd Badrul dead,” Baharudin said.

Investigation into the accident is ongoing.
