PETALING JAYA (May 24): A transformer room outside the Melaka Planetarium was destroyed in a fire at noon yesterday, reported Bernama.

Melaka Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Senior Fire Supt Mohd Hafidzatullah Rashid said the department received a distress call at 11.46am before 23 firefighters were deployed from the Ayer Keroh, Nukit Katil and Jalan Kubu fire stations.

According to Harian Metro, the distress call was made after members of the public noticed sparks from the back of the building.

However, no casualties were reported in the incident, as the building was vacant because it was not yet operational.
