FD Iskandar took home the Editor’s Choice — Malaysia’s Exemplary Real Estate Industry Leader 2018 while KLCC Park was bestowed the title Editor’s Choice — Exemplary Contribution to the Nation.

FD Iskandar, who is also the group managing director and CEO of Glomac Bhd, has shown remarkable leadership as Rehda president, a post he has held since 2014. He has been objective and fair to the needs of industry stakeholders and consumers, especially when the industry is currently facing challenging times. Of note is his commitment to raising awareness of building properties that can be sustainably managed and maintained.

“This award will be a permanent reminder for me and a source of inspiration to all those who are working tirelessly to make a positive difference for the good of the real estate industry. My deepest gratitude to the people who have supported me throughout my career since my humble beginnings almost three decades ago.

“I’m forever grateful to the continuous and unconditional support from my loved ones which has kept me going this far. My term will end very soon but it has been an enriching and unforgettable experience,” said FD Iskandar during his acceptance speech.

As for the iconic KLCC Park, it was recognised for showcasing exceptional sustainability attributes. The 22-year-old urban park in the heart of Malaysia’s capital city illustrates the superb translation of passionate community-building efforts into a key creator of value in real estate.

Managed by KLCC Urusharta Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of KLCC Property Holdings Bhd, the 60-acre green lung also took home the Gold award in the above 10 years specialised category.

“It is indeed an honour for us to receive this award for the recognition of KLCC Park. The park has always been special to us in KLCC Group and Petronas, particularly for those who have witnessed the transformation of a bare land to a park.

“As we celebrate our 23rd anniversary this year, this prestigious award is even more significant for us. The park was designed to showcase the heritage of tropical greenery by integrating nature’s creation into the development — a perfect symbiosis of flora and fauna,” said KLCC Property CEO Datuk Hashim Wahir during his acceptance speech.
