KUALA LUMPUR (July 3): Former director of the Penang Land and Mines Office Datuk Arifin Haji Awang has been appointed as an executive director (ED) in Penang-based property developer Ivory Properties Group Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Ivory said Arifin’s appointment takes effect today.

Arifin had been the director in the Penang Land and Mines Office for 12 years, before his retirement in 2015. Prior to that, he was the Land Administrator at the Central Seberang Perai (Bukit Mertajam) District and Land Office for 10 years.

He brings with him 30 years of experience in land management matters, and is an expert in land laws and administration.

Ivory shares closed up 0.5 sen (1.2%) to 42 sen at noon market break today, for a market capitalisation of RM205.83 million. — theedgemarkets.com
