What is the Dasar Komuniti Negara?
The Dasar Komuniti Negara (DKN/National Community Policy) was formulated by the Housing and Local Government Ministry to improve the lives of the B40s living in the Projek Perumahan Rakyat (PPR/public housing). The DKN is a part of the National Housing Policy/Dasar Perumahan Negara 2018-2025.
DKN's goals:
- To change the mindset of the people in the community
- To empower the community to take charge and be responsible for the proper maintenance of the place they live in and share
- To create a sense of belonging and ownership in the community
- To empower the community to love and care for their neighbours
- To have meaningful social interaction among members
- To learn to network and collaborate with the private sector and NGOs to build a resilient community
Apakah Dasar Komuniti Negara?
DKN dirumuskan oleh Kementerian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan dengan tujuan untuk memperbaiki hidup golongan berpendapatan rendah (B40) yang mendiami Projek Perumahan Rakyat (PPR).
Dasar ini mempunyai enam matlamat, iaitu:
- Mengubah pemikiran masyarakat PPR
- Memperkasakan masyarakat PPR untuk meneraju dan bertanggungjawab terhadap penyelengaraan kediaman dan kawasan-kawasan umum yang dikongsi
- Memupuk semangat kekitaan dan pemilikan di kalangan masyarakat PPR
- Memperkasakan masyarakat PPR untuk saling menyayangi dan menjaga satu sama lain
- Memupuk pergaulan yang bermakna sesama penghuni PPR
- Mengajar penghuni PPR untuk berhubung dengan sektor swasta serta pertubuhan bukan kerajaan untuk membina masyarakat yang tahan lasak

Urgent help for PPRs needed!
The PPR dwellers face many daunting hardships in their daily lives. Here are some ways you can help them:
- CSR program with the community
- Direct funding to the Community Fund/Trust
- Work with NGOs in the community
- Work with the Secretariat (KPKT)
- Sending volunteers
- Scholarships
- Internships
- Adopt the PPR kids/PPR
- Provide training and jobs
- Refurbish or renovate facilities
- Contribute assets/resources
